Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 September 2026
nive is a soundscape app for sleep, focus and calm. We built it to be quiet in every sense — including how little of your data it needs. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — if you create an account, your email address and an encrypted password (or the identifier from a sign-in provider such as Apple or Google).
- Your mixes and preferences — the soundscapes you create, favourite, or save, and settings like Sleep Mode timers.
- Support messages — anything you send us at hello@niveapp.com.
Information collected automatically
- Device and app data — device model, operating system version, app version, language, and crash logs, used to keep the app stable.
- Usage data — anonymous, aggregated events (for example, that a session started) to understand which features help. We do not build advertising profiles.
What we do not collect
nive does not use your microphone, does not track your location, and does not sell your personal information. Audio playback happens on your device; your listening never needs to reach a microphone to work.
How we use information
- To provide the app, sync your mixes, and remember your settings.
- To process subscriptions and prevent fraud or abuse.
- To fix bugs, improve performance, and design new sounds.
- To respond to your support requests.
- To send essential service messages (we do not send marketing email unless you opt in).
Payments
Subscriptions are handled by the app stores (Apple App Store and Google Play) or our payment processor. We receive confirmation of your subscription status, but we never see or store your full card number.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers who help us run nive — such as hosting, crash reporting, and payment processing — and only what they need to perform that work. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users. If nive is ever involved in a merger or acquisition, we will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different policy.
Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain records for legal or accounting reasons.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can manage your mixes and delete your account from within the app, or email us at hello@niveapp.com and we will help.
Children
nive is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where it is, we use appropriate safeguards to protect it consistent with this policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as nive evolves. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.
