Terms of Service

Last updated: 27 September 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and nive when you use our app and website. By using nive, you agree to them. Please read them — we have kept them as plain as we can.

Using nive

You may use nive for your own personal, non-commercial enjoyment. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country, or have permission from a parent or guardian. You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for activity that happens under it.

Your account

  • Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • Do not share your account or let others use it as their own.
  • Tell us promptly at hello@niveapp.com if you suspect unauthorised use.

Subscriptions and payments

nive offers a free tier and paid subscriptions. Paid plans are billed through the app store or payment processor you signed up with. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and you can cancel anytime through your app store account settings. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. Prices and features may change; we will give notice of material changes before your next renewal.

Content and licence

The sounds, recordings, artwork, and software in nive are owned by nive or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use them within the app. You may not:

  • Copy, sell, redistribute, or publicly broadcast the audio outside the app.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the underlying sound files.
  • Use nive content to train machine-learning models without our written permission.

Mixes you create from nive sounds remain usable by you within the app, but the underlying sounds stay licensed, not sold.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse nive. That includes attempting to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to our systems, using the app for anything unlawful, or interfering with other people’s use of it. Community features are also governed by our Community Guidelines.

Availability

We work to keep nive available and offline-capable, but we do not promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may suspend the service for maintenance.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using nive and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or the Community Guidelines, or if we must for legal or security reasons. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — such as licence limits and liability — will continue to apply.

Disclaimers

nive is provided “as is” and is intended for relaxation, focus, and sleep support. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or cure any condition. If you have a health concern, speak with a qualified professional. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties not expressly stated here.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, nive will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app changes. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use nive after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
